This one-day interactive workshop offers a trauma-informed approach to addiction that goes far beyond symptom management. Using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, you will explore addiction not as a behaviour to control but as a protective system made up of parts working to shield individuals from deep emotional pain.

In this training, you will learn to identify and engage with the key parts involved in addiction:
•    Firefighters – Parts that react impulsively to numb emotional distress, often through addictive behaviours.
•    Managers – Protective parts that attempt to maintain control and prevent emotional overwhelm.
•    Exiles – The wounded parts carrying trauma, shame, and deep emotional burdens.

This workshop provides clinicians and wellness professionals with practical and compassionate tools to work with the entire addictive system. You will learn how to help clients build a healthier relationship with their internal world, reduce internal conflict, and move toward lasting healing.

What You’ll Gain:
•    A deeper understanding of IFS as a trauma-informed model for addiction
•    Techniques to navigate helplessness, hopelessness, and despair in addiction recovery
•    Practical tools to work with Firefighters, Managers, and Exiles
•    Guided exercises to foster Self-energy and self-compassion in your practice
•    Strategies to support clients in healing at the root level rather than just managing symptoms

This is an opportunity to shift your perspective on addiction and gain tools that create meaningful, lasting change in your client’s healing journey.
