ABOUT THE TRAINERS
Soluma is led by:
Dr Katie Overbury - a Clinical Psychologist and Somatic Facilitator, who works with the body through breath and movement. Having spent a decade working in the NHS, Katie now specialises in trauma focused modalities for both Complex Trauma and PTSD. She’s an EMDR accredited practitioner, a parts-work geek, and runs a thriving private practice. Over the years Katie has studied, trained and assisted on, many large somatic trainings and retreats, gaining hands-on experience of group facilitation, including how to hold deep, complex spaces rooted in ethical care.
Lydia McCartney - a Somatic Psychotherapist, body-based trauma specialist, and the founder of The Reverence Method™, a therapeutic modality and pathway that honours the wisdom of the female body. She is trained in talk therapy, somatics, breathwork and MER Bodywork. She is also in training to become a certified Red School Menstruality Mentor and Sexological Bodyworker.
Her work focuses on trauma, sexuality, and the female nervous system, supporting women to reconnect with their bodies and build safety from the inside out. Alongside running a successful private practice, Lydia facilitates somatic retreats and online programmes, bringing depth, nervous system awareness, and embodied healing into both 1:1 and group spaces.
Together, they bring decades of experience in trauma therapy, nervous system science, group facilitation, and ethical somatic practice.
Their work is deeply respected across the UK and Europe and this is a rare chance to train with them here in Aotearoa.
